Due to a large amount of text spam and phishing attacks, wireless carriers are establishing a way to allow proper texting traffic to pass through when they know it is coming from a legitimate source. This applies to active/existing and also new phone numbers.
To allow this to work, the texting number must be associated with the business that is sending the texts. This requires a legal business name, the address of the business, and the EIN number of the business.
For any numbers that remain unregistered, texts will be heavily filtered by carriers especially if they contain links that are critical for past-due payments, App Linnks, and other TL features to work.
These regulations are currently in the works and are changing day by day. There are additional fees associated with the number of registrations, and that is also changing. Currently, there is a yearly registration fee of $18.00 which is charged on your Tan-LInk invoice.
Update your information in Tan-Link
Go to General Settings > SMS Registration and update all information on that screen.
If you do not have an EIN Number, you can type in NA in that box. However if your business does have an EIN and you put NA, the number registration will fail.
Please inform us once you have updated the information.
While the SMS registration is completed, we may disable your outgoing texts. SMS will be re-enabled once the registration is approved. Please log into your site > go to General Settings > SMS Registration and complete the information.
Also, please contact support via ticket to provide the CP575 Notice from the IRS, which is the EIN Confirmation Letter. That will confirm the Business Name for us to use.
Add the information listed below when submitting your request to support:
Owner's name
Owner's email
Owner's phone number
Please do this as soon as possible and let us know if you have any questions.
