On your iPad, first go to SETTINGS > Wi-Fi and make sure the iPad is connected to your store's local WIFI. This is how the computer connects to the iPad. No physical connection is needed.
Once connected, open Safari browsers and go to http://sitename.tan-link.com/mobile.php
Replace <salon url> to your salon's link, for example: http://bronzetan.tan-link.com/mobile.php
You should see a screen similar to this once connected:
Thank you
24.27.46.246
Version: v8.19.17
Tan-Link will allow the use of two ipads connecting to two separate computers. However, this feature must be enabled in your software. Message support to have the feature turned on. Once turned on, each ipad will be set to two different links:
Left computer: http://sitename.tan-link.com/mobile.php
Right computer: http://sitename.tan-link.com/mobile.php?tablet=2
Bookmark these links on the iPad by clicking on the box with the up arrow on the right side of the address bar. Then on the bottom you can select what to do. Scroll through those options and select Add to Home Screen. Now you can pull up the link if you have to restart the iPad for any reason.
Next on your desktop computer Chrome, go to http://whatismyip.host
The numbers on the website should match the numbers on the ipad (the 24.27.46.246 in the above example). This indicates that they are on the same network. If the numbers do not match, your iPad is not connected to the same network and will not work.
Once the iPad is connected, agreements and payments will show up on the iPad as you do transactions. Make sure the mobile icon on the top bar is green indicating that this is the computer that should connect to iPad. Only one computer can connect to the iPad at one time.
When working with the iPad, do not open more than 1 account on one computer in different windows. Doing so will cause the agreements and payments to flicker and refresh. Close all browsers if this happens, and open only one on that computer. The second computer can pull up a different client as long as it is not taking a payment or signing an agreement, or it is using the right tablet.
