The Tan-link main navigation bar is the top bar where all the information and menus reside. You may not see all of these icons in your configuration. If an option is not available or enabled on your site, you will not see the option.
The home icon is on the top left of the screen and will take you back to your main screen from anywhere in Tan-Link.
The Staff Menu is where you can open/close ledger, view ledger history, view schedules, view inventory, time clocks and bonus/commission information.
The Documents Menu is where you can add any documents you want to store and allow staff to access. Any PDF files can be added here that are used regularly.

BEST WAYS TO FIND A CUSTOMER
You can search for the customer in several different ways, the following order is highly suggested to find the right customer quickly:
1. By first 3 letters of first, and first 3 letters of last name. To look up Robert Pattinson, you would search Rob pat
2. By phone number (without dashes or spaces): 5125764124
3. By email: robertp@gmail.com
4. By entering the customer's Account Id #
5. By date of birth: 1-1-1995
CREATING A NEW CUSTOMER ACCOUNT
Click on this button to create a new member in the system. If you are attempting to create a New Customer that already exists, the system will prompt you regarding this to avoid a duplicate as show below. If the new customer is NONE Of the current customers showing in the list, you will select "No Accounts Match This Member - Create New Account" and continue with the new customer account creation.
When creating a new account, the site allows you to search and find an existing member that the customer was referred by. Click on "SEARCH".
In the new window that opens type in the existing customers name and hit "SEARCH" It will pull up a list of customers to select from. When customer is found click on "Add to Account"
If there is no referral, you will be required to enter "not referred" in the box to move forward.
CHECK PRICE AND GIFT CARD VALUE
Search in this box for any package or services sold and its pricing. A key phrase of the item name can be used to find the product or we suggest a scan gun. Secondly, the SEARCH TERMS entered when mapping the packages can be used to pull and sell a package or service. Finally, you can also search for a gift card number in this box to see the balance on the gift card.
SMS Message Center
All customer texts are received using this icon. You can correspond with the customer if you have texting enabled. You can also have template SMS responses that can be setup to respond to customers in a specific way, using your own scripts and templates. Depending on the security level set for your salon(s), general staff may NOT see this icon.
Schedule/Calendar
You can view the staffing schedule as well as appointments using this icon.
Sticky Notes
You can send and receive direct and group messages with the staff using this icon. This message can be sent to one recipient, or they may be sent to multiple recipients. Sticky notes are also where any Automatic Reports enabled in Tan-Link will be sent to.
Shopping Cart
Managers can request products to be ordered through the Products > Update Stock or Place Order option. As they request these items, the admin can view them in this cart and can adjust or continue to place the order. The order can be sent to the admins email, or you can set up a supplier email where the order can be sent to directly.
Time Clock
The time clock is where you clock-in and clock-out for a shift. All sales and check-ins will show in the site history for the employee that is logged in.
Live Support
Once live support is enabled on your site, you will see the Chat icon on the top of your Tan-Link site.
Click on this button to request live assistance with any of the following issues.
1. Beds not setting.
2. Billing Issue.
3. Equipment/Package access issues.
4. Inventory Issue
5. Other
We will start a Support Ticket if a more complex issue comes up. Our support team will be ready to assist Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm CST. Live Support is available to anyone logged into Tan-Link during Support hours.
Account View History
You can see the accounts that were pulled up recently from this location under this button.
Current Location
The current location you are logged into is shown here. You can click on it and change your location without logging out and back in. Do NOT forget to return to your location, or all check-ins and sales will appear at the location you switched to.
Logging Out
Use this button to log out of the system when you are not using it.
Requesting Support
Click on the 🛈 icon located on the top right-hand corner of your Tan-Link home page.
You can search for solutions to common issues, setup questions, and also troubleshooting tips in the knowledge base. If nothing helped, you can request support by submitting a ticket from the ticket center.
